Our Dental Technologies

At Kerhoulas Dental Rosedale in Toronto, the technology we use helps to inform treatment planning and can make your dental appointments more efficient. Because we can display digital X-rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms, we can show you any issues in your mouth and walk you through your treatment plan.

Our goal is to provide patients with efficient dental care and work to keep them informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us do that. If you're looking for a dentist near you, we're here to help.

X-Rays

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays use digital sensors instead of traditional photographic X-ray film. They produce computer images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures. This piece of dental technology allows your dentist to view parts of your mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to see one complete image of the whole mouth. This is a flat image of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ) and nasal and sinus systems. Panoramic X-rays can be used to help plan treatments for dentures, braces, extractions and implants.

Intraoral Scanners

Intraoral scanners create digital dental impressions as an alternative to traditional dental impressions.

Your dentist uses an optical scanning wand to take a digital image of your teeth in minutes. This device allows your dentist to capture highly accurate data. Within a few minutes, digital models of the hard and soft tissues of your mouth can be created.

These might be used for restorative purposes including crowns, veneers and implants. Scanners can also be used to help diagnose orthodontic issues and develop treatment plans. Using the wand, your dentist at Kerhoulas Dental Rosedale may also scan molars at the back of your mouth.
